Old and New

The Parthenon, Παρθενών (Greek), shot from a unique angle, shows the combination of original and restored stonework that makes up the famous structure today. That and the ever present scaffolding were testament to the condition of one of the oldest structures still able to be visited.

The Erechtheum

The Erechtheum (Greek: Ἐρέχθειον Erechtheion; /ˌerekˈθiːəm/) sits across from the Parthenon, with the beautiful Porch of the Caryotids adorning its side.

Lonely Post

Mykonos Windmill

The famous Mykonos windmills were impressive up close, and occupied a lot of the 'photographic energy' of our whole group.

Red Dome

It was a rare dome that was painted anything other than blue; I captured this one as dusk came upon us as we ate our dinner at one of the countless outdoor cafes.

Blue Door

I really liked the striking blue of this door, positioned on the edge of the ocean, with the sunset behind it.

Cruise Destination

One of the many cruise ships we saw during our stay. The island is an obvious destination, and there were as many as 4 or 5 cruise ships visible at many times during our stay. You can also see the long winding walkway and the cable car, 2 of the ways to get back down to the dock area. We took a taxi instead :)

Beyond The Blue Dome

Churches were literally everywhere, and the distinctive blue domes made for attractive subjects. A polarizer really brought out the vibrant colors of this one on our first day on Santorini.

Santorini Sunlight

The late sun makes the white buildings glow along the caldera edge, near the town of Oia on Santorini.

Oia Sunset

e made the trip to Oia from Fira and joined the huge throng awaiting the sunset. It was hard to get a clear spot to frame the shot with so many in one place, but it was worth the effort!

Our walk brought us to some great views of the island and the surrounding sea.

Rhodes Sunset #1

Our hotel room balcony faced almost due west, and we were treated to some spectacular sunsets during our visit. This one had stupendous colors right out of the camera.
