Golden Gate Canyon State Park, October 2011

Claudia and I managed to slip away form our crazy busy work schedules long enough for a quick trip up to this state park that is close by. It is a wonderful destination for seeing the leaves change and is now on my list for every year. We only had about a few hours light when we got there, but it was still well worth the nominal $7 entrance fee to go in. next time I hope to have more time to really explore some of the hikes as well as the rest of the roads.

Against the Sky
The perfect fall weather of Colorado helps accentuate the wonderful color of these aspens against the sky.
Subdued 'Fire'
Just missed the direct sun on this grove of incredibly red-orange aspens. Even so, they were amazingly colorful.
Dramatic Drive
A unique cloud formation adds drama to an already beautiful drive as we head out of the park on our way home.
