Mexico, December 2009

We decided to remove oursselves form the endless bustle and commercialism of the holidays for once, and travelled south to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for Christmas. We got out of Colorado 1 day prior to a winter storm, and instead were able to enjoy 8 days of warm sun, sandy beaches, and plenty of cerveza and margaritas. I took my camera along, but never took it too close to the sandy beaches. It was not super productive as a photographic trip, but it sure was fun :o)

Tulum Beach
ulum is an area of ruins about an hour's drive from Playa Del Carmen. I liked this small patch of beach that opened up to the ocean, as some threatening clouds moved overhead. The water really was this unbelievable blue color. It was like looking at a sea of Gatorade :o)

Ruin
This is one of many structures at the site. There are many to view (although you don't go inside) and lots of people where there at the site the day we visited. It was a little hot (even in December) but very fun.
