The trip to Glacier Bay National Park was supposed to be the highlight of the trip, but the weather did not cooperate. The Margerie Glacier, the main attraction, was still impressive, but not what it could have been and the conditions made getting a representative image very hard.
The 2nd glacier we visited was Lamplugh Glacier - which started out almost completed obscured by rain, fog, and mist. It eventually began to be slightly visible as we were pulling away. This heavily processed image gives a hint of just how amazing and colorful this scene could have been if we had only had better weather. Instead, it ended up looking more like a painting than an image from a high resolution camera.
The early October sun starts to come through the clouds over Lake Diablo in North Cascades National Park.
