Waterton Lakes Park

We traveled for a day up to the canadian side, to Waterton Lakes National Park. The weather was pretty poor, but the area was still beautiful.

Along GTTS Road

he famous 'Going To The Sun road was closed in the middle to repair previous avalanche damage, but we were able to drive a ways up from both sides of the park, and still say some beautiful scenery.

Final Look

AS we are driving away from the park we get our least obscured view of the mighty peaks that gave the park its name.

Red Ridge, Trail Ridge Road

Late fall color on a prominent ridge as Fall River Road approaches the visitor's center in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Deserted Barn

A small deserted shack along a trail in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Out of The Dark

So this is a heavy crop form one of the other pictures from this trip. I liked the way this looked reformatted to remove what was a relatively uninteresting horizon and sky. The black and white conversion added to the feel.

Parting Shot

A final view of the dune field in the morning sun, before we drove away.

Golden Light

The light was ever changing on the drive home on highway 285. I zeroed in on this grove with the telephoto.

Denali South Overlook View

This shows the panoramic view of the south side of Denali National Park from the overlook, which is a very short walk from the parking lot. Even though the peak of the fall color had already passed, there was still some nice color to be seen in the late angle sunlight.

Street vendor, Rome

I captured a street vendor as we wandered the streets of Rome (and eventually got lost...)

There were plenty of other amazing peaks and views to each side of Denali itself. I liked this one.

Low Sun

The early flight helps me catch the first of the suns rays coming across the peaks.

Tulum Beach

ulum is an area of ruins about an hour's drive from Playa Del Carmen. I liked this small patch of beach that opened up to the ocean, as some threatening clouds moved overhead. The water really was this unbelievable blue color. It was like looking at a sea of Gatorade :o)

Last Sun

caught the last of the sun's rays on a hillside and cloudbank as we drove over Trail Ridge Road in the park on our way to Grand Lake for dinner.

Rocky View - Headland Cove

One of the first impressive views I came to along the trail in Point Lobos Reserve

Single Cypress

I liked the hardy looking single cypress perched on this large rock.

Athens Panorama

A panorama of Athens as the last rays of the sun cast their glow over the city and its surroundings.

The Needles At Dusk

We did manage a very quick drive up into the Black Hills the first afternoon we arrived in South Dakota. We were racing the light but I managed to get one image that I liked of the Needles as the sun was going down.
