You might be hard pressed to find a more remote national park, as this one is located at the end of a longer than 2 hour ferry ride out into the Gulf of Mexico. If you make the trip, prepare for some great snorkeling, as well as the ability to experience a walk through a Civil War era fort, that uses more bricks in a single structure than any other building. It is very hot in the summer and hard to imagine what the soldiers must have had to endure who built and manned this fort.
